Better Now Than Later

Then they will learn that you alone are called the Lord, that you alone are the Most High, supreme over all the earth.

We are by nature a hardheaded, selfish, even arrogant species.  We like to think we know it all, and what we don’t know we will figure it out.  This is a problem.

How is it a problem?

This pride and independence to which we so desperately cling are contrary to the revealed will of the Almighty.  It is the same as telling God that He is not needed.  The Bible calls this very issue the core of humankind’s sin problem.  We want to live life on our terms without assistance or guidance of any kind.  It is this attitude that quickly becomes a rejection of the Creator, then ultimately a hatred of all things spiritual.

Paul writes, “ Do not be deceived, God is not mocked…” (Galatians 6:7 NKJV).

Friend, God will not tolerate unfounded and misdirected derision forever.  The Bible is clear that a season of reckoning will arrive.  The enemies of Israel were always dealt with, and the enemies of God will face a day when all of us will acknowledge His preeminence.

Embrace the Lord God Almighty!  He is both great and good.  Do it sooner as opposed to later.   It is the single most important decision you will ever make.
